Patients undergoing primary CTRT with Dysphagia at presentation. Choice of feeding tube – NGT vs PEG ?

  1. It seems NGT promotes active swallowing in patients and prevent the stricture formation who are undergoing CTRT. Disadvantages are cosmetically not appealing , can cause sinusitis, nasal trauma, Reflux and aspiration.

  2. I think PEG will be better , bcz from radiation oncologist’s prospective, we dont need patients to loose weight as it will affect mask fittings and treatment planning.
